What is the Parish Nursing Ministry?

NURSES’ INFO AND UPDATES:

1) The flu season is here with a vengeance. We had 20 deaths so far this year. If you have not received your flu shot yet, please do. Most pharmacies are dispensing the flu shots, and if you are on Medicare B or D, your insurance should pay for it. If you do not have insurance, you can receive a free flu shot on a Friday between 2pm and 4pm at: Allentown Bureau of Public Health,
435 Hamilton St., Allentown, PA 18101 (610-437-7660).You must contact them first to make sure they still have a supply available. We have information on flu symptoms and types of vaccine available on the tables in the door ways; please help yourselves to these.

2) If you are interested in becoming a parish nurse, we have pamphlets on the window sill in back of the church. If you need CEU’s for your license, the prep course seminars are accredited to give them. We still are looking for volunteers with any type of medical background to help with the Parish Nurses Ministry. We especially need bi-lingual speaking persons.

3) We need more wool yarn for our prayer shawls. Please donate unused wool yarn and leave in the rectory.
